Acquired from JamieinWV is a Case Canoe. What drew me to this knife was the Black Sycamore covers which I had not previously encountered. I am not quite sure if the pattern on the wood is natural or if it has been applied. If anyone knows I would be grateful for the information.

That’s some real pretty handle material. Sycamore wood in its natural form has that pattern. I’m guessing that the black coloration is from wood stain. Here’s a photo of some natural sycamore:

Very nice boat, QS!

I received this Craftsman 95067 today. The shield is what really drew me in...that, and it's a two-blade jack. It's a little scruffy, but in good working order. I'm debating about giving it a little polishing in addition to a cleaning. Should I find a nice minty one, this one will become a carrier. More photos will be posted in the Craftsman knives thread.

That is one lovely canoe you have there Garry, congratulations! Jamie is a pleasure to do business with, isn't he! I've not seen that material used for the covers prior to seeing yours, but I wouldn't mind seeing it used more, it's quite unique! 8)

I really like that shield too! I’ll bet it will clean up wonderfully, should you decide to go that route. Nice one!

Good looking Canoe Quick Steel. I've really like the looks of the Sycamore Covers. I've seen some that are speckled and some that almost give a striped pattern, I guess just depends on how and where the cut was made and the orientation of the wood. Either way, they look good. ::tu::

Nice looking Craftsman Dan. It is one of the A.C.A. Edge line of knives which all had the Black sawcut look delrin handles with the Brass Oval American Eagle Shield . The 95067 was listed as a "Gentleman's Jack". Get you some WD-40 and a nylon bristle brush and it will clean the handles really well. Some 4 0000 steel wool with some WD-40 will clean up the bolsters. Oil the joints and you have a great little EDC. ::tu::

The mail person was good to me today. Got this little Robeson I fished out of the bay. The bolsters and blades needed a little cleaning, and amazingly the MOP handles doesn't have any breaks or cracks, around the pins. A Robson 722110 2-5/8" Pearl Swell Center Pen Knife. The tang stamps on both blades is the upward Arched ROBESON with CO in the middle with Cutlery straight across the bottom. According to Goins' and other info I have, this tang stamp was used until 1922. I never really could catch the true iridescence with my camera, but these are some really nice handles. The blades, for a tiny knife, has a very audible snap on both.

I agree. That is a very good-looking Robeson!

Upon further inspection, I found the the blades on my new Craftsman were gritty (especially the master blade). I'll have to give it some oil to flush out whatever is built up in there. Failing that, it might need the mineral oil spa treatment that Smitty often mentions.

Tom I’m not familiar with that brand, but that’s some fine looking bone. Almost reminds me of the covers on a Schrade Wostenholm special stockman. Very nice!

Papa, that Robeson would be the right knife to tote along to a fancy dinner ::tu::
