The Mighty Canine Muscle Missile managed to scare the bejesus out of some kids down in the grove on our walk today. The kids were walking the trail coming from the other direction and came around a bend just as the Muffin Head was coming around the other way. Of course Trey had to start running in circles and trying to get their attention. You'd have thought a grizzly bear had jumped out of the bushes! The one little boy was obviously scared to death of dogs. I got Muffin Head to sit and let them pass without incident. It was funny though.

The 35 1/2 is a great pattern and one of my favorites as well.

The kids were young. They looked like siblings. The oldest, a girl, looked to be 12 or 13. The boy who was scared of dogs looked to be about 10, and the third kid, a boy, was probably about 8. I thought he was gonna' climb a tree!

It's in my watch pocket as we speak. Your post made the call for me of which small EDC was getting pocket time today. This one is a "no dots" '65 - '69. Is it just me and my imagination or do the older carbon steel blades take a better edge than many of the newer knives? This little jack and several of my older canoes seem to come off the stone razor sharp with a minimum of effort. And of course there's that lovely patina they acquire with age and use. Now here's a question for you (and anyone else who may have an answer). In the pic below is an older 6235 1/2 (I think) beside the one I'm carrying. The mark side tang stamp is Case XX but the pile side is blank, no model number. Also the older knife has the master blade on the mark side in front of the secondary blade and the nail nick on the secondary blade faces the pile side while the newer knife has the master blade on the pile side behind the secondary blade and the nail nicks on both blades face the mark side. I bought the older one on ebay a few years ago and the seller didn't make any mention of it's history. I've always wondered if it had been rebuilt or modified at some time. Any thoughts?
