Case Classic Rams Horn Elephant Toe 1 of 3

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

Case Classic Rams Horn Elephant Toe 1 of 3

Post by jmshunts »

Hi, first post here. I have a few Case knifes but I’m not familiar at all with the “Case Classic” series. I stumbled upon this elephant toe with nice sheep horn handles that is 1 of 3 made. Can someone please give me a history of the Classic series and a general idea of the value and desirability of this knife? I saw where a Classic Stag handle elephant toe sold on eBay for $800 but I don’t know if that’s any indication of the value of this guy?

Welcome to AAPK. You are not alone in wanting info about Case Classics. Here’s a link to just one of the many threads and posts here about them. viewtopic.php?f=66&t=74417&p=994667&hil ... er#p994667
Regarding value the best source is an advanced search of ebay sold listings. Look for sold listings only, you may or may not find the exact same knife but you’ll get a general idea of the value based on prior sales of similar items.
