I was on a road trip yesterday to a family gathering so I was away from home all day. Very close to the WV border.

The older I get the more I appreciate family get togethers, we were at my daughters and son in law house and our 5 year old granddaughters house for a very good lunch/dinner. I’ve been guilty of not slowing down for those times in the past, but I’m learning that the other stuff that was so important to get done was not as important as the family time I was missing. I’m glad you had some family time and I’m sure a enjoyable day.

Also I hope no of the locals run you off the road…the hillbillies tend to drive like maniacs and there are a bunch of drivers from a state north of us that tend to drive 20 mph under the speed limit and won’t get out of the fast lane…(won’t mention the state) so just fair warning for driving in or near my little state.

Little state? If you flatten WV it would be bigger than Texas! ::rotflol::

You hear the term used all the “as the crow flies” a 20 mile journey is normally only 3 or 4 crow fly miles…

I got this from a local guy for 10 bucks. It’s a Smith & Wesson CK 1027. I’m not sure what the handle material is. It’s a solid knife with gator snap and sharp blades - a good weight, too. I’m curious whether this is one of S&W’s US made knives or China made. Either way, it seems to be darned good quality - especially for 10 bucks!

Good looking knife. The handles kind of looks like Rams Horn.

That would be nice, Smitty! I don’t trust my judgment, but I’d swear it was some kind of bone. I’ve searched and can’t find any info on this knife. Still wondering if it’s US or China.

I agree with Smitty, Tim. I'd be willing to bet that the handle scales are ram or sheep horn. If not, they are a very good imitation. As to country of origin, if it does not have "USA" on the tang stamp it's pretty safe to assume that it is made in Asia...most likely China or Taiwan. I found this on ebay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/203239687832. Looks like the same knife. Hope this helps.

Nice photo as always, Scott And! An odd name choice for a filter, but the results are great. Maybe I'll play around with some filters on PhotoShop Express.

Nope, no USA on it, so pretty much what I suspected, but I am pleased that it looks like a good quality handle material. Thanks!
