New GEC 88's

Post by jerryd6818 »

The new GEC 88 makes me dribble in my panties. Maybe not the plastic ivory handles but there will be other handle materials. It's the first GEC pattern in quite a while that's made my heart go pitty-pat. I'll not be able to get one but that doesn't stop the wanna's.

What an excellent idea. Now all we have to do is convince Bryan (if he hasn't already decided on the annual AAPK knife).

Edit: Well my request is in. I'm not holding my breath.

I hope this one sells poorly, which in my opinion, the white plastic handles will make it a slow seller. I should've gotten some of the poor-selling Farm and Field Tool models I wanted when they were a hard sell from many dealers, and thus affordable.

I'll likely get it rescaled if I do snag one.

I got one of the black micarta. It's very nice in the hand, one of my favorite all time GECs (not that I have had a ton of them) right up there with the 43 I got from roland.

How did you get one? They're not even out yet.

Yes, these dropped about a week ago, and the Ivory Acrylic this week.

The knives look fantastic, are those steel pins or brass?

Like the gator, would be cool to have the gator on a knife that had some sawblade teeth.

Had to pick an ironwood up on the secondary market, really wanted the Northfield version and have had zero luck getting any GEC's at the drops.

You'd never use it this way of course but I love how the 88 actually looks like the gator shield with both blades open. Watch out, she'll bite ya!
