I like that one a lot, thanks for showing it!dtc241079 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 28, 2021 10:17 pm Hi Guys I’d like to share this one with you.
Here I have an antique sterling silver Boar war officers military campaign folding cutlery set made by John watts Sheffield 1897 with original shank. It can be used as a single knife fork or spoon or if needed you can open half way the spoon and fork and then it can be separated from the knife in the centre and then you have a 3 piece cutlery set.
Wow Mason, that's a great knife!Mason wrote: ↑Mon Mar 29, 2021 1:44 am Nice recent examples shown from 1fartsmella, Kootenay Joe, Luckydog, Miller Bros., and dtc241079.
M.B., that lion's head model from auction is quite unusual, any company name listed in the description?
Enclosed is an uncommon model on a few levels. Made by H.G. Long in the mid-1800s, this lock-back folder is fairly large with a handle length of just over 6 inches. It also features a recessed blade lock which is less common on old Sheffield folders than raised lock-tabs. But the most unusual feature are the folding hand guards which are seldom seen on vintage Sheffield folding knives.
That’s a really good looking knife and the conditiondtc241079 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 28, 2021 10:17 pm Hi Guys I’d like to share this one with you.
