Thanks gino.
I didn't realize people changed up on their EDCs so often.

Your welcome Gary. I used to carry the same one for years but about 2 years ago I started changing my EDC when ever I got the urge, which is quite often with me. I too have noticed a ton of people change quite frequently.
What about you?

I've been packing around the same three for about 15 years. I've been carrying the last folder I made a little bit too, so I guess that's four.

I've been carrying this Russell Barlow I got from augustus on eBay as well as a Case mini trapper. This Barlow is a really nice knife. The photo is by augustus.

Mike,
Glad my old knife went to a good home.
I would've kept it, but I just can't seem to warm up to the Barlow pattern.

All of my knives get carried and used. There are 31 knives in my EDC rotation. I usually switch my EDC every 1-2 days. My favorites get carried for 4-5 days before I switch. Knives are kinda like useful "man-jewelry" to me.gmusic wrote: I didn't realize people changed up on their EDCs so often.

Same here, except I can say "many" of my knives get carried and used. Lately I have started setting a few choice pieces aside.augustus88 wrote:All of my knives get carried and used. I usually carry a tactical, or one-hander, along with a traditional folder - sometimes two if I feel like grabbing one of my "change pocket" knives.
My EDC rotation consists of around 25 knives these days. Keeps it ineteresting, and as a side benefit, it keeps wear and tear on any one knife to a minimum.
I enjoy 'em more if I carry 'em ...

I'm glad you don't care for Barlows Octavio. This is one of my favorite knives.augustus88 wrote:Mike,

On Edge, one scale has ridges the other side is smooth, it's a beautiful knife that feels perfect in the hand. The ridges are a nice feature for a right hander.

Vikingdog, Man that is a nice knife! I really like those handles!
I've never tried to carry a barlow but I think I would try that one out just because it's so purdy!!!

Like it Mike! I carried a Barlow all during my youth and always have had a fondness for them.

Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
I guess I just get comfortable with a knife. It's feel, how it comes out of my pocket, how it takes an edge, how it holds an edge, and I tend to stick with it. These I have carried for some some time seem to fit the bill, so I don't change up. Find a good one and stick with her.............................are we still talkin knives?

I may rotate knives every other day, but I've been with the same woman for 23 1/2 years and I'm only 42. Guess I found a good one..... and my GEC and Case knives ain't bad either.gmusic wrote:Find a good one and stick with her.............................are we still talkin knives?

Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
I've been switching out between a GEC Northfield big jack, an old 10 dot 1970 Case large Sod Buster in carbon that still has snap opening and closing that sounds like a bull whip, a USA Schrade 8OT Old Timer, A John Primble big congress, and a Camillus marlin spike with SS blade. The Camillus has really surprized me. It's sharp enough to cut the red off an apple and never touch the peel, and has held up very well considering what I put a knife through. I honestly can't say anything bad about the Camillus and it's SS blade. I'll change most of those out at the beginning of the month, except the GEC. I always keep the GEC in my EDC rotations. Think I'll throw in a Case swell end jack, a Case Classic big whittler pattern, and a folding hunter of some US or German brand on my next EDC rotation go around.

Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
Hi Johnny, the GEC has cranberry acrylic on it. The GEC takes a very sharp edge and holds it longer from use than almost any knife I have. I have an old Western States and a Case XX knife that is as good as the GEC on taking and holding an edge. I'm very pleased with the GEC for sure. I've got a few more GEC's but I aint never carried them or put them to the test.......................yet.johnny twoshoes wrote:Aimus, sounds like a nice rotation, what are the scales on the GEC Big Jack, and hows the edge preform for you?

Sorry Gino, I'm not picture capable with this computer. Wish I was though.
Thanks Paul. I try to get a laugh and put a smile on at least one person's face each day.

Nice Progress Perry. I love the old Hawks and Pruners. I have a bunch of them and buy them every time I come across one.
