....the main blade is dull in the middle...and just the end portion is sharp....never have seen one...like this....help ole fleas....

That looks like a 6347 stockman that has had a strange sharpening job.

Looks to be user modified to me, I don't think you have discovered a rarity here.

Dave,
I would guess that the tip of the clip blade was broken and some one salvaged it with that special shape. Is the recessed part sharpened back to the tang? Had that not been cut out it would have been a practical "Warncliff mod" that would be very useful. It may have a very practical use. ::shrug::

looks like someone made an orange peeler blade out of the regular blade.

It brings back memories, it would make a fine corn knife too, my ole momma used a little blade shaped like that on her corns. ::tu::

Whoever did it was right handy with the grinder. It looks like a real fine job of reshaping.

Looking at the placement of the nail nick, and the flattening by the tip of the spine, it looks like very good homemade reshaping. Can't say why, but I just don't see a factory placing the nick in that place/position, IMHO
