Here's a strange one (to me anyway)

Post by keithw »

This one is on Ebay, and I can't figure out if it's an old one or not.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0649471422

It has a single Eye etch on the blade which leads me to believe it's a newer one,
and,
It has the arched C.Schileper tang stamp, which could be new or old
but,
It has a plain shield.
plus,
It has smooth bone handles.

I'd like to bid on it, but I would like to know what it really is first!

Thanks!

Anything with a laser etch like that isn't very old. It is a nice knife though.

IH,

I should have been more descriptive on age.
I meant older for Eye Brand knives.
I think most people consider Eyes that are from the 70s and even until the early 80s as old.

I've seen quite a few Eyes on Ebay recently in patterns and combinations that I haven't seen before.
A friend of mine who's an Eye distributor has been having a hard time getting Eyes, which makes me wonder if their production has been scaled back.

I'm wondering now if they're doing more outsourcing with our friends in China. ::td:: ::tear::
