I can't tell you anything specific to that knife, but William Scott is a maker of sporrans, kilt pins, belts, and sgian dubhs very similar to this one. They have been around since 1937 I believe.

It is properly called a sgian-dubh.

Would like to see some clear pics of the knife.Prices are all over the map for these.I have several;some with stag handles and others with hardwood handles carved with Celtic knots. One has a cairngorm(a yellow semi-precious stone)set into the pommel.I also have several I bought as letter openers for less than $5 apiece and that is about what they are worth.

The sgian-dubh (skin-doo) means "little black knife" it was carried as a concealed weapon in your hose (socks) that's quite the nice on too. I have a fake one I.e. it is not a knife but s chunk of plastic made to look like a sgian-dubh. I am a bagpipe player and the fake is to remain authentic but be able to enter places where a small concealed knife is inappropriate like a school.

Kind of reminds you of Canal Street's "Carry the Football"
