Chesterman Ruler Knife

Post by smiling-knife »

This is another recent acquisition. A Chesterman Ruler knife with blades of Firth Stainless steel made by Ibberson. The back scale is marked with a provisional 1934 patent. Push on the notch on the bottom (see pic 1) and the ruler attachment raises just enough to expose the little nick at the very top edge (see very top right pic 2) to aid opening. James Chesterman was a famous maker of measuring devices including early tape measures.
