My latest Schrade

Schrade Cutlery Company was founded in 1904 by George Schrade, and his brothers Jacob and William Schrade. In 1946 Imperial Knife Associated Companies, (IKAC; an association of Ulster Knife Co and Imperial Knife Co) purchased controlling interest in Schrade Cut Co and changed the name to Schrade Walden Cutlery. In 1973 the name was changed to Schrade Cutlery. In 2004 Schrade closed due to bankruptcy.

This forum is dedicated to the knives that are the legacy of this company. This forum is not the place to discuss the replica knives currently being imported using the Schrade name.

Ken, your post caused me to get out some of my 8OT and a 881Y to compare to this new 881 - all have very similar snap (6-7 range) - I couldn't tell much difference between the bunch of them. Thanks Keith, I knew when I saw the tang stamp that this blind hog had rooted an acorn - I'm sure my poker face wasn't all that good! OH

OH,
I have quite a number of NOS 8OTs 881s and 880s all in tubes Pre 1973, and find the 881s and 880s very hard to open.
The later 881s and 8OTas you say, have much the same snap.
I do note: most of my 881s have the matchstrike pull. The earlyer knives, could all have a better snap. Ken

Producer, Do you have a wish list, for your Schrade Collection?
Yes, I have a wish list of sorts. And I emhasize the "wish" part.

I'd love to have a 1940T for some reason. They look real "old Timey" to me.
720T dog leg Jack would be nice too I'd imagine. I have two 330T's and lately I carry one in my watch pocket besides whatever else I carry.
I figure a 720T must be nice too.
I'm sure ,like a lot of Schrade enthusiasts, we want one[make that 3] of every model ever made!

Anyway I hope to to add to the few examples of this great brand I already have.

Blue bone is always nice - those two look great Ken. This one came in Tuesday's mail (from Keith) - a NOS 293 Trapper (in the tube with liner paper). I was out bird hunting for a few days when it arrived, just got to open it up and take some pictures today. OH

OH, I love posting my knives. This is my blue bone set.
I have a brown bone set and the 100th. Anneversary wooden handle Display set.
The ones I like the most are the ACB rope cut blue bone handles and the set of 3 red bone knives.

Garddogg, it took me years to find one of those 55UHs NIB. They were only sold buy Kmart.

Hi Grant, about five years ago I found this one on eBay. I did not want it, so I bid $25.
No one wanted it, and my bid was the only bid... Ken

Like your blue handle knives.

Hi Keith,
I do not think the bolsters on the ACB knives are Sterling Silver.

My ACB80 Salesman Sample is fully finished and numbered.
I have an unfinished ACB80 and an ACB72 also.
Over the last 4 or 5 years, I have seen some of these unfinished knives on eBay.

Schrade were taking orders for then, in 2003; and were planning to start manufacturing them around April 2004.
They never made production
