Boy I have been to Harlan, Ky. many times back in the 70's and 80's. That was like getting into Mr. Pebody's way back machine and visiting the past. There were three towns up there we called " The 3 H's", Harlan, Hazard and Hyden. Straight out the Daniel Boone Parkway into another era.

One of my favorite Sergio Leone movies- the water dripping on the guy's Stetson and the other bandito catching a fly in his revolver barrel . . . about time for me to watch it again. ::nod::

He couldn't be in that movie Tommy. He was too busy making "The Green Berets". Even your hero, John Wayne, only has just so much true grit.

I don't know if this is the right place for this but it was the only place I could think of. I had never heard this song until I stumbled on to it this morning. I was expecting the Irish version so was surprised by what I really got. It fit so well with my mood this morning, I had to post it. And after all, it is George Jones.

Well, it's a sad story for sure. In that story at least he got to come home. Our POWs & MIAs didn't.
Of course we sent planes to Haiti to rescue duvalier and sent planes to Philippines for marcos ..............
but our boys? Just couldn't get around to it ................

Here are a couple of tunes that I like really well: I forgot how to fix these things, so, Jerry if you please:

This one I'm posting to honor our Dobro player that we lost last Christmas, RIP Bud Walls. Bud had the most tasteful fill-in licks of anybody in the business and was a masterful player.

Great song. Can't go wrong with ole George. Can't believe you never heard that one before Jerry. Funny coincidence (sort of anyway). Don't know why but this one from George popped into my head and has been running through it for a couple of days! ::facepalm:: It's a much lighter subject matter though.
