I've been experiencing lately. I haven't gotten to the
liquidation phase yet but do enjoy the return to basics.
Speaking of which....decided to sprinkle some more
magic dust, time & labor on this one.

I guess I must love my Opinel's, for all the work on sanding and staining I do to make it really mine. Then I gift it to someone who needs a knife, and I start all over again on a new Opinel. I thik I've done most of the shades of stain Minwax makes, and a few of my own using Tandy's leather die and linseed oil. To me, it's both a labor of love, plus the love of an old funky design that is remarkably sturdy for field use as well as an edc pocket knife.IMBand wrote:Interesting re-works you guys do on these Opie folders. The knife may lend itself well to re-working but
it's easy to tell how much your Opies are loved and used, really good stuff.
I finally decided that there must be something to the reputation they have as a slicer so I got a set of Opie 112 Paring
knives for the kitchen, they are AWESOME!! If anyone has been wanting to try Opinel and does not wish to carry thier folder, I can highly recommend the 112.
