This #77 was my "one of these days", as it turned out. I wasn't into slippies until late, and missed all the #15 and earlier #77 runs. Made sure to secure a notification from a dealer when the #77s were going on pre-order. Planned on one or two of those and went in search for old Barlows. One week I hit on a pretty large haul of Barlows and spent a good deal of my unspoken-for foldin money. Then the #14 was announced and reservations sold out in some sort of ridiculous new record like 30 seconds at many outlets. So since the #77 is the last new Barlow run anyone is aware of, as soon as it came out as green jigged bone I gave a strong YES. To compound things, I was incommunicado the day the dealer announced the releases and put a 24 hour clock on it. I didn't check email until the next day, just outside the 24 hours they were holding the knife. I frantically checked their store -- page can't be displayed. Was heartbroken. With an email to their customer service, though, they managed to reinstate the link and I got my knife. Thanks, CK.
That extra quarter inch or so of handle works well with my meathooks. It's like a Barlow created precisely for my hand. Haven't figured out when its maiden carry will be, but I'm thinking it probably comes to work with me at some point this week.

I was bidding on that beauty while knowing I would soon have to fulfill my #77 order, but it was pretty enough where I was considering a somewhat ridiculous max bid to take it down. I didn't even see too much corrosion besides a little patina and those blades look totally full. If I were the lucky owner I'd just gently clean any grime off, stabilize any leftover active oxidation, oil and sharpen and Bob's yer uncle. You got a find, sir, I am envious.
