That's a very impressive knife, Cal.
A real working knife.

If I am allowed to say Bad Ass... That is what I am sayin'tongueriver wrote:I am loving all these knives; thanx, guys, and special thanks to ZZ for the Western info. I just got this early 1960s R.H.Ruana. The blade is 7 13/16" so it is a beast for a sticker. The flapover sheath is also in tiptop condition. The elk antler inserts are starting to show some knice patina.

I know the feelin'! I tried sleepin' it off but as you can see..............it didn't work.jerryd6818 wrote:Now ya see Charlie, that's the problem with this web site. I wasn't even thinking about Buck fixed blades until you showed that beauty and now I feel a stirrin' in the wanna region of my brain. There's just something about those smooth black handles and the lines of the blades......... I think I'll just go lie down and wait for it to go away.
Dittos on the quality of ESEE knives. My oldest son is a fan of tacticals (like Spyderco) and an avid hunter/fisherman/outdoorsman. He carries an ESSE 4 daily when not at work. He keeps hounding me about getting one for myself. I think I'll put it on my Christmas list, so he can buy me one!philco wrote:Here's a knife I don't see mentioned much on AAPK. It's an ESEE 4. Not the prettiest knife I own but I've been very impressed with the quality and the razor edge that's easy to maintain. (Good ole' 1095 blade steel )
I blame Old Hunter, but I had to have these in 5160 steel and brass.philco wrote:I too have been tempted by those Bucks. I'm a weak, weak man.
