It did come with a black leather sheath (which I have put some miles on). I am posting from work right now (SHHHHHH!!!) I'll check the sheath and maybe post a photo when I get home this evening. All of the knives in the photo have their original sheaths except the Remington pattern Edge Mark, it has a replacement sheath that I made for it when the original finally became un-repairable.

Yet more very nice blades, guys. I posted this SCCO knife a page back (page 101) but thought I'd come back to show it with a sheath I just recently found. This sheath was the closest fit for this knife in all of eBay. It's a very inexpensive leather sheath but well made and has a welt to protect the stitching. It arrived in the tan color but I dyed it in hopes of making it a closer match to the old Schrade Cut Co fixed blade knife (color and age wise). The knife was made by Kinfolks for Schrade Cut Co. I'd appreciate some comments - good or bad or just a or Tan or darker shade sheath? Thanks

I like both colors but the darker sheath seems to match the knife better in this case, IMHO.

Thank you for the replies, gentlemen. I liked the tan color too but thought the darker would fit this knife best. I wanted to make sure I hadn't screwed it up so, thought I'd ask for a consensus from the pros.

Terry, the sheath has no markings on the back. The people who make them make several types and sizes. The sheath was listed for $10.95 + $3.00 shipping with a make offer option and I made one of $9.00 & got an immediate "offer accepted" reply. Some sheaths (like the one I bought - model #1001) have good descriptions but leave out an important part - "made for up to___ size blade" so you have to ask. Thanks!

15th century oak on a Sheffield made bowie from planking in an old Yorkshire farmhouse. The harmonious tones in the wood make in difficult to photograph but are from an age around the time America was 'invented'.

a tribute to my good friend I loss last march

Here is the only Red Stag I have...bought it from knife maker Andy Hess of Gladstone Mich.
many years ago for my wife...this is her regular carry knife when out in the Mtns.
I post this with sadness as a very, very, good friend, knife buddy, (Don) in Ohio passed away this last march
We talked every week on the phone and emailed even more...
Every time my wife answered the phone, he tried his best to buy this knife from her,
got on her dozens of times over the yrs as he was a Red Stag nut !!!

Just made this larger version on the Western W-31. A local guy looked at the one I showed on here a few posts ago and decided he wanted one only with a longer handle. so this is his knife with a 5 inch handle, still cocobolo wood and same blade design. Terry

I'm a big fan of carryin' a back pocket fixed blade, not too big maybe around 3.25"-3.75" blade tucked into my back righthand pocket. Always feel better using a fb for a lot of smaller chores and it usually gives you a bigger handle to blade ratio and more leverage so you can get a lot more done with a smaller blade. Here's some of my neckers I like to carry in my back pocket from under $25 to custom CPK Hunter/Skinner.
