Jacks or Better to Open...

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

NIce Jacks All!!!

Some really pretty knives.

Here is a CASE XX 6294. Red bone in my opinion although I have seen redder on XX era knives.

Thanks Singin!

Top knife is a CASE XX 2231-1/2 SAB LP. Interesting that LP was standard for this knife/era.
Bottom knife is a CASE TESTED 22055 LP. Could be wrong on the model but I think that is the model.
Forgive the pic descriptions. Put the 1/2 designation on the wrong knife.

There have to be plenty more Jacks that you guys can post!

There are some mighty fine jackknives being shown here - gotta get myself a Case 3-1/2" teardrop jack- that is all there is to it!

I am sorry for the bad picture but here is a 6229 1/2. A veritable giant of a knife ... NOT!:
Image

The little blade on this 6229 1/2 snaps like a bank vault. The main is a trifle lazy.

Only other Case "Jack" would be this yeller Nut:
Image

Gotta be real careful with the nut. It WANTS to cut me!

Have other brands like Hammer, Camillus, Eagle and IXL. But these two do it for Case...

I like the red bone Dave!

Got quite a few CASE jacks, but this has to be in the favorite category for me.

CASE XX 5299 1/2 "Rail Splitter" with "A" blade. Some awesome stag on this one. A big ass Jack at 4-1/8" closed.

Thanks Mark! That is the thing I love about stag. Like a fingerprint, no two are the same.

Here is some ying and yang...

CASE XX 4231-1/2LP (LP was standard) "Capped Jack"
CASE XX 2231-1/2LP (LP was standard) "Barehead"

These are not a short jack knife either at 3-3/4" closed.

I WANT to get me one of them GEC Doglegs....

Got a LOOOONG way to go as a Hot Shot driver to even THINK about buying a knife at all... much less a GEC!

Actually anything more solid feeling than my Shell Handled Imperial would do....
Looking for the magic penny!
