That AG Russell is one of the nicest knives i have seen for some time. It is not covered with bling and other fancy stuff, it is a simple design that oozes class.
Anyone would be proud to own that one.
Tony.

I agree. Understated elegance. I am not averse to bling on some knives; that can be good, also, but I tend to gravitate toward simple beauty. Producer's stacked leather collection fits that model, also; very nice.Schradenut wrote:Ivoryman: That AG Russell is one of the nicest knives i have seen for some time. I'm also in the camp of elegant, understated beauty. Cal, your Fisher knife is a great example of this. Gorgeous!tongueriver wrote:I agree. Understated elegance. I won this Case Kodiak on the Bay this evening. The seller didn't specify but I believe it is a 1973-79. I think it must have been destiny for me to have it because as you can see my name is already on the box.

Very good looking classic USA knife; a significant find in the evolution of the 'American Hunting Knife'. And, it does have your name on it so you had to buy it. Completely understandable.

Re: Show off your fixed blades!
Just finished making this skinner for a friend, the handle is special to him, its' made out of a buffalo horn core that he found in a river a few years back. I don't know how old it is but was full of sand, gravel, and dirt and was terrible to saw up. Ruined one band saw blade in the process. guesses on the age are from 200 years to over 10,000 years old. Diffenitly not modern. I dyed it and stabilized it with tons of super glue before making the scales. Good hard stuff when you get done. thanks for looking. Terry
