Dang, Joe. Is that blade as long as it looks like in that picture? Looks more like a short sword.

ivoryman, I use brass 2 piece corby rivets, they really secure the scales (along with epoxy). Nice bunch of knives show!

No, Jerry, you caught me. I confess .... total deceptionjerryd6818 wrote:Dang, Joe. Is that blade as long as it looks like in that picture? Looks more like a short sword.

As with many cameras, if you go off center and cant the lens the right way you can distort images.
Done another way, you (I) can make a blade look awfully stubby.
Attached is a more accurate image.
I've done this with several of my knife photos.
Thanks Quick Steel.

That Trailmaster has always been one of my favorites.
Gotta' get one of those!
I said the same thing when someone posted a Buck Vanguard. I've always admired the Vanguard pattern and while I've owned many Buck knives over the years I never owned a Vanguard........until now. I decided to remedy that situation.

Those are good-looking knives; I have wanted one myself but have not done it yet. Thanks for showing it.Sasquach wrote: I've always admired the Vanguard pattern and while I've owned many Buck knives over the years I never owned a Vanguard........until now. I decided to remedy that situation.

I don't know if it holds true for every knife but my Vanguard was the sharpest production knife I have ever opened.

Nice tanto Quick Steel!
Tank, you might be right. The Vanguard came out of the box razor sharp.

Re: Show off your fixed blades!
You caused me to put a Vanguard on my birthday wish list. I've been looking at 113s for some time. Maybe someday I'll just break down and buy myself one. Fixed blades were my first love but I haven't acquired many since being bit by the folder bug.tank wrote:I don't know if it holds true for every knife but my Vanguard was the sharpest production knife I have ever opened.

Re: Show off your fixed blades!
This is my Ambush Tundra. It’s the largest in the Ambush line to date. The Tundra was designed by Jason at DLT Trading with the help of Mike Stewart at Bark River. The Tundra was an instant classic because it offered the beloved blade shape of Canadian Special type blade with an Aurora type handle. My Tundra is in CPM3V with Shade-Tree Herringbone Micarta scales, thick G10 Natural and White thin liners and Mosaic pins

This thread is a happy place.
I hope you all had a rewarding Easter weekend. Just did my budget and it looks like I have eight dollars allocated for cutlery in April.

Re: Show off your fixed blades!
When he first came to the states Chris Reeve offered a number of superb fixed blades. He overcame the issues common to hollow handle knives. Famous for his folders today, his fixed blades are as rugged as outdoor knives can be. And very sharp.
