I was kinda hoping that Vic or Tony would cough up some of those primo examples and throw them in your direction.

Sweet. There was a very similar knife kind of hidden in a two knife auction a week or two ago.

Is that it?

Yes Sir, this is it. The back bone scale is in terrific shape, but I gotta get this crack in the front stabilized. A little rusty as well but still has some snap in both blades.

Do both the blades open and close without any stops or catches?

The little bronze bearings on these have been known to fall off.

Not really any catches, neither blade really snaps open though. Both blades are a little lazy when opening.

Can you see the bronze bearings on the ends of the tangs?

This smooth black dogleg came home with me yesterday from a local show I attended. Handles have shrunk some and the blades show some usage but lotsa life left. The stamp has Robeson arched. the pattern number is stamped as 323724. Thanks for looking.

Nice honest older knife. Looks like the master clip was originally sabre ground.

I don't have the exact same pattern, but this will give you an idea of how your knife's profile was when new.

Robeson's smooth black does not readily shrink. I think your knife has been around for a while. If the master has a arched ROBESON stamp, the knife dates circa 1915.

Hello Charlie:

Thanks for taking a look at my knife.

I thought the clip blade was likely sabre ground as well. It has been ground by someone other than the factory. The only marking on the clip is the pattern number on the pile side. The master pen blade has the Robeson arched over Cutlery. There is something in the middle, it looks like it may be USA. Tough to make out.

Is the slick black one in your pic right at 3" closed? I recently got one just like it but it has cream colored cell (Ivoroid) scales.

BigLMBass, I'm sorry. Somehow I missed your question.

I just looked and apparently, I never entered that knife into my database, so I don't rightly know how long it is. I'll dig it out of storage tomorrow and measure and get back to you on the length.

That's a nice EZ Opener. Beautiful bone, great condition.

It's not an 027 pattern, so what is the pattern number? I cannot read it.
