Thanks Galvanic and Utah. The tang is stamped Cattaraugus/Cutlery Co./Little Valley and it is a 21087
Rexstubbins has one exactly like it except the blade etch includes Made in U.S.A. see here: http://allaboutpocketknives.com/knife_f ... 7&start=15

Thanks for the comments guys!
Cattaraugus had the coolest knife boxes ever, IMO.
Mike, what's the wood type on the display box? Looks really dark.

The wood I think is pine because the case is not heavy and the dark color is a stain. Here is my latest Cattaraugus a Framers Jack. Not sure how much it's been used if at all has staining on the blades with the main blade more as you can see in the pics and main blade is tipped. Love the bone though!!

That's really cool, Miller Bro's.
And, besides being cool it's a darned good idea, too.

Cat A Raw Goose
I posted this on another forum a few months ago. I say this book published by Cattaraugus title "How to Whittle"' big on it, and won. It came with a typed letter (folded up inside)that had apparently been sent by Cattaraugus to whomever had inquired about the book, and talked about the Boy Scout Whitt-L-Kraft knife advertised on the back cover.
About a week later I saw the exact knife on eBay, and just had to have it. I got into a bidding war and won. It is in superb shape, and I now have a complete and historical set.

Hello dma1965,
That letter is an amazing find!! I've been scrounging through
Cattaraugus bill heads and letters for years and I have never seen
that one before now. The note on pronunciation in very interesting.
We've been saying it wrong all these years!

Just caught up with this thread.
DMA,very nice knife,with a lot of provenance .
Nice stuff Josh and Tom.
Mike you know I like that farmers jack,it's different. One of the smallest at 3 5/8",with the largest pruning blade of my farmers, except that Aerial "farmers moose". Very unusual....Your blades look unused in the photos.Unique to say the least on those beautiful Expo knives.
Dimitri, those knives are cool and weird, nice one.
Nice set Ron.

Found this one at the local Lehigh Valley Knife show yesterday, a sleeve board pen with full blades and jigged bone handles. Tang is 4 lines with Cattaraugus arched on the first line, then Cutlery Co, then Little Valley and finally N.Y.

Finally found some information on the Stearns & Chenoweth etching on the knife I posted back on pages 5-6 of this thread. Apparently they were an Oregon based hardware store back in the 1880's with a location in Oakland, OR. Here's some links if you're interested;

Here is my latest Catt. It's 2 5/8" closed and marked C.C.C. Little Valley NY. First time I ever seen this mark on a Catt.
