Sportsman's Knife

I found this knife at the flea market early Sunday morning.

I know I have seen this knife before somewhere.
Does anyone know anything about it, maker, country of origin, etc?
I have tried the search engine but it was too broad a term for a good search.

Any help is appreciated!

Dale, IIRC Utica sold these with the "Sportsman`s Knife" stamp and sometimes the blade face was etched.

Here is a pic of a Utica Sportsman knife I own.Not too similar.

I think orvet's knife is a Camillus product from the mid 1930s. Camiilus also made the Kent "sportsman" model, and a similar blades one with their own mark.

Here are some more pictures of my knife with the sheath.

One of our members sent me a link to a 6 year old post on BF about the Kent Sportsman’s knife made for Woolworth stores. They were indeed made by Camillus and definitely in the 1930s, I was able to confirm that much.

I have spent a good portion of the afternoon emailing Michael at BF, trading info on knives. He was good enough to send me pictures of three of his Kent Sportsman’s Knives in his collection. He suggested my knife might be a Sportsman’s Knife made for some other company; perhaps Wards or Kresge.

For comparison here are some pictures of Michael’s Kent Sportsman’s Knives.

I was thinking it was an early Kastor German import, but I was a few decades off.
Still it is nice to finally have it identified and know I did have the right company.

Dale here's a Camillus that kinda looks like the Sportsman with the exception of the guard.

I have a couple of those with Rogers bone handles.
There are a hunting knife, (Outers pattern IIRC, or similar to the Outers).
Camillus sold a BUNCH of those to the US Military at the start of WW II. They were a pattern currently in production and they just stepped up the production and the military bought them while new designs were made, submitted and tooling made for other pattern which were more specifically military.
