Re: My latest Schrade
Here is my latest Schrade. I have been working the owner of this knife for close to two years and they finally let me have it!
I took this knife to my Uncle, who was the Sample maker/Custom Knife guy for Schrade and he has confirmed that this is one of six of the original samples he personally designed and put together for Schrade immediately prior to their closing. He stated that there were six originals for the executives and then an additional 50 blades were ordered. The intent was that Schrade was going to present one to each of their executives and then send some out to their largest distributors.
The 50 blades that were ordered in to stock were purchased by either SMKW or Blue Ridge Knives and they are now in the hands of a seller from Texas who assembled the knives using Stag Handles and is selling them on ebay for $1600. currently.
The difference is that the Knife was designed to have Exterior Rams Horn Handles, NOT Stag and as you can see in the pictures, mine has the Rams Horn. I do not know where the other 5 knives are but I wish I could find them...
These pictures do not do the 100th Anniversary Bowie any justice...this is an absolutely gorgeous knife and I am proud to have it in my collection!

The SQ knifes are often found on eBay. I have seen them sell for $15.royal0014 wrote:Thanks KGI'll print out those, so I'll know what to look for....

I would buy some more of the SQ knives. However, Australian Customs do not like them.
I imported my SQ knives, when Australian Customs were not too hard on some knives.
My "Lake & Walker one" knives with the BG42 blades, started a big fight with our Customs... Ken

I have worked on a number of Schrade 206 Barlows, all have been made with the Swinden system.
As you can imagine those bolsters do not lend themselves to the through pin method of pinning; hard to peen the pin and clean it up without damaging the fancy bolsters.
However, I have not seen the S.C.C. stamp on any knives made with the Swinden system. Tom Williams sent me some s cards of Camillus made knives with the S.C.C. tang stamps.
I can’t imagine the 206 being made with a through pin and not the Swinden system, but it could be that Schrade made some blades for the 205 Barlows and used the S.C.C. stamp on them.
Can you see any evidence of the pin in the bolsters on your 206?
Another Schrade enigma!
