Ken, the blue bone on the Schrade's in your display just knock my eyes out - beautiful! Wish Schrade had made more knives in bone in their later decades - every time I see something like your blue bone collection I realize just what we've lost. OH

This is a brown bone set, Schrade made about 2002-2003.
My pick of the bone handled Schrade knives, are the Classics - I have the display set and the set in tins.
They did make some nice bone handled kniver, over the years.
The Red Bone set of three knives, are one of my all time must have knives.

Producer, these red bone knives were sold in the 3 knife set; or you could order them in a set, one at a time in brown boxes.Producer wrote:Kg

Nice picture show Ken! I found this little Schrade 106OT in a pawn shop yesterday, sitting on a shelf in it's original box, added it to my small pile of Schrade's. It was (and still is) pouring rain when I got home yesterday - I'll try to get a better photo soon. OH

Re: My latest Schrade
OH, the 106OT was the last knife I had to find, to complete my 1991 Display.
I did find a very good used one, and then about two months later, I found a NIB 106OT.
I have seen them sell for $60-$65. KG.

Re: My latest Schrade
Snagged this SCC at the Dalton show. Swedge and bolsters are what caught my eye
Hope ya'll can help me identify this one (HEY Mr Orvet!)
SCHRADE
CUT.CO.
WALDEN N.Y. (both blades)
No pattern #, 3 5/8" closed. N/S bolsters, brass liners, scales are some type of wood
Main blade has swedge mark and pile side! Both blades snapppy. I would have walked right past it were it
not for SCHRADE stamped into the bolster.
Indoor, cellphone pictures aren't great but I took a bunch. Lots to look at here
Also check out my 51ot here.....http://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/kni ... 64&t=40819

Beautiful knife Grant, thanks for sharingShearer wrote:I have a bone handle one it is a 2203 3/4.Mine mearures 3 1/2 inchs. Some of the knives had W after the number. Grant

Slight difference's between yours and mine, maybe it'll help narrow the ID

Your knife appears to have all brass pins, and look spun. The pivot pin is well hidden, too.
My knife has three brass pins, and the spring-pin is steel. The pivot pin is obvious. Perhaps the reason is the
different scale material (bone vs wood)?
Did I literally stumble into a semi-rare knife

IMO, the knife is fairly rare on its' own, regardless of the differences in materials. These usually go for decent dollars on ebay.

I went and measured again, and it is 3-1/2 inches.
A huge Thank You, sir!!
As long as I'm here, here is a SS1 recently arrived. Near perfect, never sharpened.
I have not seen many of these on flea-bay

I would think its rarer than the 2OT, simply because they are probably 30 or 40 years older and there were probably fewer made than the 2OT.
I have not seen one sell on ebay, but I would thing in decent condition they would bring $150 to $200, maybe more.
What have you seen them sell for Glenn?
I have seen 2OTs sell for $500+ MIB and parts knives sell for $150, but that is a more sought after knife because it is the first Old Timer. More competition for those left.

Wow, thanks Dale! I may have a knife worth more than what I paid for it
My pictures don't show good detail, but it's not quite mint. Scales, bolsters and caps are fair+, but the blades are pitted and not well taken care of. The back of the main had bad grinder marks. Still a good example, imho.

Hi royal0014 from Australia, I like your SS1 it look like new.

When Schrade closed down, I took years to find and collect the later type knives from 2000 to 2004.
I have all of the "Simon Knives" SS1 - SS1AB - SS15 - SS16 and the SS17. They cost me under $10 NIB at that time.
It looks like you have found a very nice old Schrade, for your collection... Ken

Hi garddogg,garddogg56 wrote:Picked up...a Schrade flipper from Ireland.l didn' t know they made em there.Anyone know anything about this flipper??
The knife you call a"fiipper" is a Schrade "Badger SX4B"(Black Blade). They were made in the Imperial Schrade factory, in Ireland.
Around 2001-2003, Schrade started to have some knives made in China also; "The Badger SX4".(Silver Blade)
This is a Schrade Flyer for the 2004, 100th Anniversory, that Schrade had made in China.
I do not think too many of the Anniversary SX4s found their way out of the factory.
I have a number of the “SX4 Anniversary Tins and knives” but only one SX4 Badger with the 100th Anniversary "blade etch.
After Schrade closed down, Taylor started to have the same knife made in China.
However, the Taylor knives are only stamped "SCHRADE" not "Schrade China" like the pre; 2004 knives.
The knives Schrade had made in China, are a better knife alround - when compared to the later Taylor Brand knives.
If you start looking for the knives Schrade were making from about 2002 to 2004.
Make certain the blade is clearly stamped “Schrade U.S.A”. or “Schrade China”.... Ken

"Blace" means I had trouble spelling BLACK, the knives made in Ireland have a black blade.
If I can help, just ask. I have spent years trying to find the less expensive knives Schrade made.
I belive, most of the less expensive knives were used and not put away as collectables.
