Robert Klaas Kissing Crane info

Post by Alfred Oldham »

I have a Kissing Crane stamped Robt. Klaas Solingen Germany. I believe I bought the knife in Germany in 1988. Here are some pic's. Can anyone give me information on this knife?
Thanks

Please be patient. We've got a guy here who knows way more than the rest of us put together about Kissing Crane knives. I'm sure he'll show up soon.

By the way, while we're waiting, ::welcome:: to AAPK.

Welcome Alfred ::handshake::

I did not think that Klaas starting using the super steel markings until the late 1990s. I have e-mailed them to varify the dating.

Thanks for the info basser5, after thinking about it I believe I bought a single blade, wood handle J. Moede in '88. I was back in Germany in '97 and I bought the KC. Well I'm 66 and expected to forget things, at least that's what my wife says.
I posted some pics of the J. Moede in the general knife questions, at least that is where I think I did it. If you know anything about this maker it would also be helpful.

Alfred i don't see the other thread.

Jürgen Moede had a small company in Solingen from 1963 to somewhere in the 90s.

It's listed as J. Moede knives in General knife Q&A. My bad, it is knife related Q&A.
