Old Congress

Post by bkazz5 »

Picked this up at a local gun show. Was still in a plastic sleeve with the paper. I believe it to be an older one but my German Eye knowledge is lacking. Can anyone give me an approximate date on this one? Has black bone handles. Is 4" long closed. The two main blades have the two eye etching and the eye tang stamp. The two secodary blades are not stamped at all. Looks to have never been used. Other than some blade rubs in great shape. Sorry for the poor pics.

Late 1970s to 1981, according to Dobbs.

Thanks Ray. Good to know. What's the tell. Is it the tang stamp or the paper?

It is the tang stamp for me. For what it's worth, the shield would also a good 'tell'.

Bkazz, your knife has the two line etch which is the older one.NICE KNIFE ::tu:: ::tu::
Tang stamps hide more than they reveal.
