Information on a couple of knives please

Post by Lawrence »

I picked up these two knives last week and I can't seem to find much information on them. The first one is a beautiful mother of pearl 'Anticorro' (only marking on any blade). The pictures don't do it justice, when you move it around in the light, you can see tones of purple and blue within the pearl...it's the nicest mop knife I have. I'm thinking, by the name, that it is Italian?
The second is German, CSC, and it came in a small sheath.
Any info. on these would be greatly appreciated. I did order Goins from Knifeworld two weeks ago but am waiting for its arrival. When I have it I will be finally able to respond to folks ....Goins says....
But for now I'm stumped. cheers

I just did a quick search but couldn´t come up with much. Is there a slight possibility that CSC could be Canal Street Cutlery and that they had knives made for them in Solingen, Germany?
Regarding the other knife "Anticorro" seems to be a made up word for "anti corrosive". It is not italian nor spanish. ::hmm::

Just a follow up on these knives...my Goins Encyclopedia just came in and there's no stopping me now! I'm wondering if some names are mis-spelled. The reason why I say this is that (regarding the pearl knife) Goins has Anticor listed c 1909-1930, A trademark used by H. Buchner (Hugo Buchner Mfg. Berlin Germany).
The CSC knife is listed as SCC Co g1920-1940, Germany...probably another one of those companies who had to change their efforts, or ceased to exist once the war started?

In any case, they are both old and they look good in my collection. ::tu::

The pearl handle knife could be Czechoslovakia. That is where I found the word Anticorro. If the word was German,Capt. Farrel would have known he lives in North Germany.

The word isn´t definitely german, but there is a Czech company named "Quickstep Anticorro s.r.o." that has been producing stainless steel components for 100 years. The knife could be one of their earlier products. ::hmm::

I have a pic of a Mikov pen knife in my Photobucket with ANTICORRO stamped on the tang. I think it means stainless steel.
