I purchased this Mighty Angler MA8 Filet Knife off eBay from an AAPK member
I have the MA5 & MA6 in my collection but I've never seen or herd of this MA8
Check out the second photo, its blade is from a GF65

Thanks for showing that fillet knife. I have one also, but no packaging, and have never seen the packaging. Nobody until now seemed to know what the darn thing was.

tongueriver,
I'm glad someone has seen one of these
I could not find anything on this knife on the Collectors of Schrade site.
The only clue I have is that the packaging is dated 1987

Re: My latest Schrade
That is a great find Keith!
Is there any info on the package as to the retailer, maybe a price tag with a store name?
Since this is a non-catalog pattern, I am thinking it may have been an SFO for someone like K-Mart, Wal-Mart or any of a dozen other large retailers.
Excellent discovery! It is always great to find an unknown factory Schrade! (From the US factory of course!)

I'm not sure these were made on contract for a retailer, but maybe a wholesaler of fishing tackle. At one time, they were available in the local marina back home, as well as a couple of bait shops.

Re: My latest Schrade
Just accquired these two 340T's
I had one that I lost in the 60's and then another from around 2003-4 that snapped the spring on the spey blade just opening it.
I was shocked when it happened and could not bring myself to carry the knife eversince.
I"ve wanted to replace the 340 and I finally did with these two. I'm so happy I got another 340T!
A few other Schrades too, Thanks Harold

Recent pickups. 6ot with sheath from the 'bay. 7ot no sheath, 4 bucks at a swap meet!
Both Schrade+ both used but not abused.
7ot is numbered on the bolster: AA39596. Any input?
Sorry for the lousy pics...

royal,
Keith
I believe you are referring to the LB7 that has the serial number on the bolster. Schrade numbered their early Uncle Henry knives but discontinued this later on. I'm sorry but I don't know the exact dates they did this or what the numbers may mean7ot is numbered on the bolster: AA39596. Any input?

I have a LB 7, with the serial number, not pictured, I've had for a long time too.
Schrades are my favorite to collect and use.
I'll post a pick of the UHLB7 later.

Re: My latest Schrade
Hi Grant and Garddog, that is a nice set.
They were sold one at a time and each knife came in a white box.
If you were to order the Display Case, it came with one numbered knife.
Then the rest of the knives with matching numbers, were set to you as they were released.
If you have not seen this, I find it worth the look... Ken

Re: My latest Schrade
Schrade 863 (or maybe an Ulster 63). No tang stamp. I won't even be able to tell once it gets here because they're the same knife. Sellers pictures.
Why? Because it wasn't much money and it looks like it's in fairly decent condition. Make a good EDC.

It's worth considering. Are you volunteering? Shoot a PM to me with a price and I'll see what the knife is really like when it gets here.
