BTW: Nice bone collection you have there T.J.
Here's a couple more Wolfies. 4" & 3-1/8" barehead jacks.
If it's meant for me to have it, it'll still be there.

T.J. -- That's just a fine, fine pile you have going there. Shows what can be done with a little patience.
All y'all. I'm overwhelmed by the quality of all this old bone. Keep 'em coming.
Makes my little scrap pile look like a bucket of dust bunnies but here goes anyway. I'm proud of what little I have.

Beautiful bone guys.I love the old Schrades Dimitri, although those knives posted by Fran and Delbert are special.
I'll add couple of my favorites. The Ulster I do not believe is pocket worn as it might look in places.I believe the bone may have had peaks that were flattened after the jigging process. It looks as if the jigging was pressed, especially on pile side.

Great background Charlie. Where did you get it and what is it? Did you get a light box?

Re: Old Knives With Jigged Bone Handles
Thanks, Jerry.
I use a flat bed scanner to do my pics.
That is just a 1/2" deep disposable plastic tray that I brought home from work. It measures about 8 1/2" x 11". I attached a sheet of blue felt with spray adhesive to the inside bottom of the tray.
When I scan a knife. I position it on the scanner bed, then cover it with the inverted tray. I have to edit the pics a bit for brightness and contrast to make them look the way they do.
You can do the same with a small metal or wooden tray from a kitchen shop or Bed Bath & Beyond.
