Mea culpa to the SAK club!
I have sinned fellers. For years I thought all SAK's were cheap toys, not real knives, just like the cheap Charlie chicom knock offs I had as a kid. But I changed my mind when I got a couple of Vic secretary knives off of Junebug. Those are some good blades in those knives.
But still I wasn't sold on them. I've been toying with the notion of picking one up, and reading about them though. I kept hearing how wonderful the saw was. Well I have a Leatherman and its alright, I just thought you guys were a typical fan club and let it go at that. I was WRONG!
Tonight after church I went out to feed the dogs, and as is the case our newest pup had his run cable tangled around two saplings that I thought there was no way he could get to (you know pups). It just so happened that I had packed a small SAK with a saw that I'd never used, just to see how it packed. I got it out, sawed down the two saplings in no time flat! I would buy the knife for the saw any day! Y'all are right. This thing is amazing!
There is a SAK Farmer in my very near future. Y'all have converted me from my heathern ways.

Re: Mea culpa to the SAK club!
Wade -- I think you pretty much articulated my feelings about the SAKs and for the same reasons. Even though I have a Wenger that surprises me every time I handle it, with it's solid feel and quality build, that cheap Chinese knife picture lingers in the back of my mind. It's very similar to the way one cheap Pakistani lock back with wood handles ruined me for the Buck knives or any knife with wood handles.
Josh gifted an Orange Alox to me and it is a splendid knife. Maybe if I pick up a few more and carry one for a while, I can cast out that ugly Chinese demon that lives in the back of my mind. On second thought, maybe I shouldn't. Maybe that Chinese demon is a friend in disguise because God knows I don't need another obsession.

Re: Mea culpa to the SAK club!
I've been wearing garlic cloves around my neck to try and ward off the SAK compulsion.
So far only one slipped through
Supposedly this Rucksack is a discontinued model. So I have kept it mint and never carried it. Either way I really like it and have nothing bad to say about it.
I have been reeeeaaaaly looking at the farmer

This place is killin' me.
I just ordered a Victorinox Swiss Army Alox Farmer off Amazon. I've not seen them anyplace else at a lower price, plus the shipping is free.

Jerry I'll be a joining ya just as soon as payday gets here. Use that saw one time and you'll fall in love I tell ya. I've used full sized hand saws that weren't this good.
