And Kathy don't feel bad,I just opened most all of my farmer jacks before reading this thread. I was comparing the spey (budding) blades.

They are getting pocket worn from going in and out of the folder.

This is a shot of my bolster lock 5" toothpick.

Notice the bone has no support when the lock is engaged.

A left mouse click should enlarge the photo.

Thanks for the picture and I wondered it was a liner lock type which was indeed done with great style.

I was looking on bladesforums. I was looking at your stuff on the Old knives thread. That Ulster "nkife" is about the funniest thing I have seen! It is so COOL! ::groove::

I just picked up a few old catalogs, this one is 1953 and has mostly kitchen knives but there are 3 pages of pocket and sheath knives. Checkout the pics.

Mike, very nice.

I have a similar catalog, same time frame. Mine has no date anywhere.

This is not nearly so nice as the bolster lock fish knife Kathy and Brett recently acquired,
nor is it as nice as the toothpick I have, but somebody bought this Robeson
616611 bolster lock toothpick off Ebay a week or two ago for $153.00,
plus S&H.

These knives are really quite rare.

Photos will expand nicely with a left click.

Notice in the last photo how the handle pins slides inside when the bolster lock is deployed.

I've never noticed that before, but it has to do that.

I had to fix this post, because I thought Charlie had bought the knife. I read his post incorrectly. I did bid on this, but didn't get it!

That would have been a nice companion to your fish knife. Pity you were outbid. It's worth more than one-fifty, even in that condition. I've only seen about three or four bolster lock toothpicks, and I think two of them had missing locks.

I've shown this knife elsewhere, but here's my toothpick.

I don't have this knife in hand yet, these are the auction photos.

Looks like a very nice pearl handled serpentine two blade lobster.

Pattern number is 723746.

The emblem on the handle is from The Knights of Pythius, a fraternal organization.

Auction price was $36.53. I think that's a bargain.

Thanks Kathy.

It arrived today and is as near mint as one could possibly hope, given its age, which I think is from the 1920's through the 1930's.

Far from mint but I'll bet this old cigar pen has a great story.

Just got an Electricians knife with Curved Robeson, then USA, then Cutlery on the tang - reverse # is 222030. Rosewood handles of course.

Maybe Charlie knows: what would it be dated? 1900-1948? Made in Perry, NY???

Wish that Knife could talk...

Thanks

Tom Kalcevic in Knives Can Talk!, dates that particular stamp on the master blade quite a bit earlier.

I don't have the book in hand, so I'm guessing a bit here, but I think he states 1900 - 1915, possibly 1915 -1922.

I'll try to get a definitive answer for you.
