Joseph Rodgers 4009 Yachtsman

Post by Beechtree »

I picked up this new Joseph Rodgers sailors knife at a very reasonable price for a friend for christmas. I thought I would post it before I send 'er away. The knife seems to be very well constructed and of thoughtful design. The marlin spike is quite impressive at 3". On initial inspection I pricked myself with it and it immediately drew blood. The sheepsfoot master blade looks to be both capable at 2.5" as well as attractive. Looks to be a quality knife.

Sure looks like a well built knife. I'm amazed how sharp the point is on that spike; I'm not sure it needs to be that sharply pointed.

It seems like it would damage your high dollar rope being that sharp.... Looks tough though

I guess its better to come sharper than not for those who like it as such, but I see what you me. For me, a non-sailor, it is an impressive implement none the less.
