Canittlers with bosters only on the main blade side?

Post by bernynhel »

The book doesn't show any but I saw two eBay listings for canittlers made after 1994 with no bolsters on the 2 blade end. One is an MOP/FRIKCC knife

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Z-Mother-of-Pea ... 2a1dd29fc5

The other had stag scales and looked unfinished with bolsters only on the main blade end. Did the bolsters fall off or is this the way they were made? Thanks!

It was made that way. Mr. Frank did several patterns that way. When a pocket knife only has bolsters on one end it is called a bare head. Here is a Congress from my collection.

Thanks, James! So it could be said that the "theme" for the FRIKCC 2001 club knives, the canittlers and your congress knives was "barehead whittlers" - do you know what year Mr Buster introduced bareheads? None are shown in the Parker book.

Do you know if there's a list for yearly FRIKCC knives for after 1994? and thanks again.

Mr. Frank produced bare head knives all along but I think you are asking about bare head Fight'n Rooster club knives. When I get time I will look at my club knife collection and see.
To my knowledge there isn't a list of Fight'n Rooster knives made after 1994.
Here is a pre 1982 bare head trapper but as you can see it isn't a club knife.

That is a nice bolster, can I see a close-up of it?
