I hope GEC runs another batch of the #12 series including some elk acorns this year.

Re: Show off your favorite GECs!
Well I have a few favs as well. The first is this Executive Whittler in Tortoise, it has the feel and snap of a much larger folder and just a beautiful execution IMO.

The second would be the Scout #73 pattern. This one is the Prim Bone, has a little green in it too.

GEC has the ability to achieve perfection on the knives they produce. I know that's a pretty lofty statement but I have never seen, among the current American knife makers, any one brand that has been able to make the blades all fit into their relatively small slots, without rubbing or scratching up against each other. Just an amazing achievement. Whether you're lookin at a Whittler, Scout or a Congress. They're pretty consistent.

Re: Show off your favorite GECs!
My latest one always seems to be my favorite du jour. This #68 Burnt Stag White Owl isn't here yet but Barry put it in the mail yesterday and the Post Office says it will be delivered on Monday. Thank you Barry. You're quickly becoming my favorite purveyor of fine cutlery.
Thanks for the use of your pictures.
Oh, the agony of the wait. The last few hours before the Postal Carrier comes to my door are always the worst.

Perry, you should have talked Monk into driving them over. He's not doing anything but waiting for fishing season to start anyway.

Re: Show off your favorite GECs!
Earl, I agree with you on that little 57 pattern. They are really substantially built with some close tolerances to get those blades to fit like they do. Gec did a bang-up job on the pattern but I think sometimes they come out with patterns so quickly that some get overlooked. And then you'll find yourself sayin' "why din' I pick one of those up???"
Been there; doin' that.

Oh I think you're a little too modest Monk. I would say that these are some of the best shots I've ever seen!
There is nothin to compare these to brother. Don't change a thing. I honestly don't know how they could be any better! Did you slow your shutter down or did you do somethin else?

Re: Show off your favorite GECs!
Yes, it certainly does Monk. I was talkin bout the shutter on your camera.
I slow my shutter down to 64 which captures another second when the shutter opens and closes. The glass certainly helps divert the glare off the knives, depending on how bright the sunlight or light your using is. I was told years ago by "Sunburst" on here that if you shoot indoors, use only flouresent lighting for better success, where glare is concerned. His pics were by far the best I have ever seen period.
Don't know what happened to Ralph but I miss him on here. I think he may have fallen on hard times a few years back but I hope I'm wrong about that.

Perry, he visited the site last on August 13th but his last post was in January of 2011.
I am selling what remaining knives I have on Ebay. A variety of brands will be listed from Tony Bose to Fightin Bull knives...
Thanks for looking...

There are a lot of names on posts from '09 and '10 that don't show up anymore.
Folks don't make a big deal out of it. For what ever reason, they just fade away.
