That would be a great road trip Mike. This is my new favorite thread, thanks TJ and all. ::tu::

Anybody got any more? Here's one that CCBill sent me. Wish I could read it. Don't know if these are the "Case Brothers" or if they're the craftsmen.

Came across this one while researching a West-Cut hunting knife. Main title said Western Knife Co.-Boulder CO. I think this is a very early picture, there was also a sub-caption that said Platts and Sons Cutlery. ::shrug::

You bet, TJ. Always looking for new ones.
The way the research article read, in the early days at Boulder, Western still used the Platts and Sons name. But, I don't think i've ever heard tell of a knife stamped Platts and Sons-Boulder, CO, so it must have been short lived, if at all. There were only about 600-800 people living in Boulder back then, and the townfolk simply refered to it as "The Cutlery". Be interesting to see what sign the owners might have put up at the time the pic was taken. ::nod::

Here are two alledgedly original cabinet photos that someone put up on Ebay sometime last year. He stated he did not know who these people were, but did express the "possibility" that they were members of the Case cutlery family.

As I recall, the auction did not get much attention and I do not think the photos sold, although my memory might be wrong on that.

I actually started to bid on them myself, but did not. I don't recall if there was a reserve price or a high starting bid.

I had saved the photos at the time and out of curiosity, looked at them again today.

I'm beginning to think he was right. It does look like the Case family.

Possibly, another opportunity lost. ::facepalm::

Love the Winterbottom photo,haven't seen that before.
The Catt factory looked better there, not overgrown with weeds like it is now.

No, I don’t know who they are. I got this picture from a descendant of one of the original five men that started Queen City.
