Bulldog Tobacco Canoe Knife 1986 English Steel STAG
I brought a Tobacco Canoe with the fighting dogs on it, but the small blade is not marked.
Has anyone ever seen this before, or is it a rarity? or a 2nd ganeration?

Is it an older one. The small blade is usually marked 1986 English Steel on the 1st generation Canoes.

If you can post a picture we might be able to shed some light on it.

A knife like that one I would almost have to coon finger to make a determination. I don't know why the small blade is not stamped. Sometimes that happend a the factory I guess. I will try to post a picture of a canoe I have tonight for comparison.

495A would indicate a second generation knife. I do not believe that is what your knife is. Here is a picture of one that I have.

So you think it's a 1st generation production knife, that never got stamped.

My guess would be that it was put together around 2000 or so when Parker was making knives with older dated blades and newer stag. Just can't say for sure without handlng the knife. Your knife is no doubt an excellent quality piece. When Charlie Dorton was calling the shots little got by him. I bought one of his latest knives a few months ago and his Partner told me Charlie had redyed the bone himself.
