That looks like the stamp they used on one of my oldest Catt's. Very few Catt's had the straight line except the Yukon, King of The Woods, and toe nail.

Re: Cattaraugus Cutlery Co. Little Valley N.Y. 1886-1963
I got these yesterday and still do not believe that they are sitting in my house. There are 60 total stamps renging from 30 Cattaraugus Stamps, curved staraight line and script, to 20 pattern number stamps. I seperated 2 of the rarer ones a 3C in a circle, I have 2 of them and 1 that has the CCC inside of an Indian arrowhead. I have not seen this stamp before on a knife.
They are sitting in an old station box that came from the factory also.

Hey galvanic1882, that is some great stuff you have acquired. I have a question about the tang stamp you posted on August 21. Is that a steel or rubber stencil? I notice it appears to be set or mounted in a piece of wood, made me wonder how it was used as a tang stamp? Treefarmer

All of them are metal and were used to stamp blades. Maybe it's just the picture but I assure you they are tang stamps.

How did you keep from freaking out when he showed you all of those stamps? Keep up the work, I have an extra bottle of Crown if that would help.

Re: Cattaraugus Cutlery Co. Little Valley N.Y. 1886-1963
Let me tell you it was not easy to loose it when i saw them. I was there to pick up the ink bottle and Picture and he was showing me more Cattaraugus History items like pictures of men and women working in the factory and I mentioned that I would love to find a tang stamp. He does not say anything but gets up and walks down to his basement and comes up with a box and says look in it. I almost fell off the chair, he agreed to sell me one and then after I got home I made an offer for the rest. I had thought that I had seen all that he had on the first trip to see him when I picked up a Champlin truck that was in the family since the early 1900's but everytime I go see him he pulls out more stuff to show me.

Re: Cattaraugus Cutlery Co. Little Valley N.Y. 1886-1963
I came across an old Catt on Ebay that really got my attention. Somebody beat me to it.
It had pattern # 11709 if memory serves. Does anybody know anything about this particular pattern? I would love to see another.

Some books call it a small trapper pattern. Here are some pictures of a single and double bladed knives.
