Re: Cattaraugus Cutlery Co. Little Valley N.Y. 1886-1963
Just saw that I forgot to post another shot of my 21286 also. In the first picture you can see a little of the blade etch. Sorry I can't get a better picture of it.

Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

Nice knife. Google books lists Riddiford Bros. in a 1911 report for Chicago. Looks like it made brushes and brooms.

Re: Cattaraugus Cutlery Co. Little Valley N.Y. 1886-1963
I was wondering if any of you Cattaraugus collectors have a original Cattaraugus knife opener for sale or trade? I collect openers, and have been looking for a Cattaraugus for over 20 years now. I know there is a wanted forum here, but I have'nt had any luck there.
Thanks, Mark.

I forgot to mention to double click on the pen knife, to view the etch and a unique tang stamp - the knife also has milled liners. I have actually owned this one for several years.

Those are some great knives. I really like that knife and box.
That swell-center is just super. What a great pattern that is.
Try taking your pics outside and turn off the flash,if possible.

It cost more than 20 bucks to replace the handles.

JKB,
I believe that that is the most tactful way I have ever heard of telling someone that the handles have been replaced.

Not a biggie, bigdaddys8ball. I paid about $60 for a stag Case Tested 6347 and after attending a knife show and posting pictures and questions I found that it had been rehandled. Still a sweet looking knife! Always a roll of the dice with vintage knives but that's what makes it fun and interesting.

Re: Cattaraugus Cutlery Co. Little Valley N.Y. 1886-1963
I am back from my latest trip to Little Valley to see my friend came home with this print that hung in the Cattaraugus Cutlery building from 1912-1963. It is also on billheads and envelopes from the company. I m showing the back of a billhead that I have also. The young man in the middle is Phillip Tint Champlin. The picture was said to have been taken in the area near the Cutlery.
I picked up a few more things that I will post later.

Here are 2 more Cattaraugus items that I was able to aquire. The little bottle held Cutler's ink. Maybe for marking the back of the blades as the Salesman did or to be used for inked etching?? Not sure about which.
The other is a tang stamp!!!
