I just got this one back from Muskrat Man Knives. It started out life as an EDC bubinga from CK. It had a crooked sheild but otherwise was fine, so I sent her away for a mammoth ivory/ringed bolster beauty treatment. Now she is a gorgeoid! The ivory is still a little fresh looking on the mark side, but this should age quickly to a nice mellow color. Thanks Kaleb! ::tu:: ::tu:: Two thumbs up as usual!

Thanks for the comments, guys. I think the GEC 23 and 73 single blades are my favorites, with or without the linerlock. I haven't got any of the new lockbacks, but I'm sure they're great too as I have several made by Queen & S&M that are sweet. I think the linerlocks are a little more user friendly as you can close them with one hand. ::nod::

I've been to several different big flea markets and some local knife swops all this summer to kind of take the temperature of what brands are moving and I have yet to see a GEC brand knife up for trade or offered for sale at any of them. Some people haven't even heard the name of GEC knives and the ones that have heard of them say they have their GEC knife at home, and it's not for sale or trade. A person would think that surely by now the GEC brands of knives would make it to some of these places. From what I've seen people either love them 100% or they've never heard of them. I can honestly say I've had many offers on my GEC big jack knife at these places when I get it out for show but I'm in that 100% love them clan and I'm going to keep it. BTW, just going by what I've seen, the Case 54 trapper pattern is the most traded knife I've seen at these places. The fact that Case has made a couple hundred million of them with different handle colors may have something to do with that though. ::shrug:: Rough Rider would hold the title for the most offered for sale brand. So the next time you go to a flea market or knife swop, take your GEC knife along for the ride and show it off. Let some people see what a nice knife they are missing. ::tu::

Great post, Aimus. I have only been to 1 knife show this year and I thought for sure there would be at least a few GEC's there but none of the collectors had any as far as I could tell.
My experience was a little different than yours.
The only collector that I spoke to about GEC's had heard of them but he said that he didn't like any of their patterns.

I had my #53 Cuban Stockman on me so I showed it to him. It did not change his opinion. I couldn't believe it!

Froggy, I haven't decided whether or not I will carry that 23. I have a couple others that I carry of similar size and style (Queen LB and Moore Maker) so probably not. Not a sure thing, though!

Well guy's I put it off as long as I could, but I had to try their new lockback...so I pulled the trigger on two of them.
The Northfeild is sweet with it's swedged blade, long pull and thick stag. The Tidioute says "use me" with it's satin
finish blade and slim Frontier bone handles. Both have good snap and tight lockup...and the Frontier is real pocket
friendly...also noticed the blade's are a bit thicker at .110 to the 73's .095...I know it's not much, but there it is.
I'm going to say that GEC has another winner...I think I'll touch up the edge a little and try her out... ::tu::

Those are very nice knives. I like the shape of the clip blade a lot. Maybe I'll have to buy one or two myself. Just can't seem to get enough of their product. ::shrug:: That Northfield is super!!! I really like the threaded bolster and long pull. When you add that knarly stag it makes it a real drooler. You always seem to get the nicest stag; I'm jelous. ::tear::
