Thanks Dave. Not only is the equal end great looking, but GEC stockmans are 4 1\4 inches in size! Because of this, they really have a solid feel. Here's an open blade pic.

Here is my #73 with a Vinegar Patina on it.

The 'modded' Spey is quite sharp. The Clip needs help. I'll work on it some more.

Nice 73 pattern JPD. Anyone that favors the older early American made knives has to like a set of good wood handles. I like that pattern and those blade styles when quartering up deer meat. I can't post a picture of it but the Northfield Big Jack I bought from a friend a little while back has really impressed me. I have EDC'd it since I got it and both blades on it fit the definition of what I think a working knife should be, to me anyway. The swedge cuts and long pulls on the clip and spear blades was a nice kicker to boot. It's drawn interest from other guys that has seen it while I was using it or just whittling with it while we talked. After holding it a minute or three and opening the blades, almost everyone of them had the same reply about the strong springs. They said they haven't seen a new knife made with stout springs like those in quite a few years. I don't think I have either honestly, maybe since back when Case offered those 31 1/2 and 99 1/2 swell end jacks. Those Case swell end jacks had some nail breakers too. The springs have either settled down after use a tiny bit on the GEC since it was new or my fingers have gotten a little stronger since then. The only thing I didn't like about it was it wasn't very sharp from the factory when I got it unused and NIB, second hand though. That put a small speck of doubt in my head at first about it but those blades got hair popping razor sharp pretty easy and hold their edge very well. That removed the doubt. What little touch up sharpening done to it has been done with an old leather belt that I've had for a many of years. Come to think about it, I don't think I read or heard of any negatives or problems during use with GEC's carbon blades. I'm very satisfied with it's material quality, F&F, blade steel, and working performance. It sure won't be the last GEC knife I buy and I'd recommend a GEC to anyone that wants a fine looking and very good work knife (some say they are even as nice to collect  ).

Here's my newest and most Fav. Purchased from Collector Knives and received this AM. It was listed as EDC which means that there is a flaw in it somewhere. I can't find anything unless it is the center pin on the back.

Nice snag, TJ, that's a dandy. I musta seen the listing right after you did! :( I had to settle for this ol' thing from NW Knives. ::ds::

I thought they were bigger! 4 inches sounds big, but they're very slim and trim. A little change-up from GEC, but I like it! Here it is compared to the 54 pattern.

WoW! You got the suspensive one. Very, very nice. Man, I just love the looks of the Wharncliffe Whittlers. If I do change my status from "accumulator" to "collector" I may major in the Wharnies.

I had a second thought and I really did try to fight it off, but, you are making me feel really guilty about getting mine before you could get to it , so, I am willing to trade you even-up for that ol' thing you had to settle for. Let me know.

TJ, that is a generous offer, but I'll have to decline. I will trade you for this fine example of a kindawharncliffe, though. The kindawharncliffes are a rare breed! ::paranoid::

Just got this Northfield #73 in Red Buffalo from Mike at collectorknives.net. (Thanks Mike!) I didn't really know what to expect, but I think it is my favorite knife now. If you like unique handled knives, I highly recommend this one. I think this is a CKNet exclusive, so better move quick if you want one.

I agree with that! The reason I did not buy the cigar pattern is because of the clip blade - it looked out of place to me. That knife is just crying for a spear blade ::tear:: - in my opinion. Yep, it would rock! ::ds::

Nice knives! ::tu:: ::tu::

Here's a nice one...they call it the furtaker, I call it a
muskrat on steriods. I like the large sheepafoot blade,
if they would make one with a spear blade instead
of a clip that would be sweet... ::tu::

Despite attempts to not take on any
additional brands or patterns I did cave and get a
Tidioute Red Diamond Scout.
Figured one couldn't hurt.
I'm sure you all can relate to how it progressed from there.
Didn't take long to decide I needed a GEC red white & blue set.

Nice set you got there wosey...cool looking display... ::tu::

This is their latest 54 moose...all dressed up with slanted and pinched bolsters,
swedged blades with long pulls...nice burnt stag and about a 9 on the pull scale.
If anyone from GEC is reading this it would be fine with me if you left off the
shields on all your stag knives...I think they look better...JMO....................... ::tu::
