GEC specializes in highly collectable and premium quality usable pocket knives. The company's USA manufactured knives have quickly proven to be a big hit with both collectors and users who seek quality American craftsmanship.
Nice catch smallmouth and welcome to AAPK. You have two keepers there, the knife and your wife. Congrats on getting such a looker of a knife for Christmas.
I was able to acquire a Pumpkin bone GEC toe; from Jim at his Raisin River AAPK store. Very impressed with the quality of these knives; and was able to fine a couple more. A stag and Banana peel; sure hope I can find a few more.
Thanks Bob, it is some nice looking stag; I didn't realize the quality of GEC knives; until I got these. Now I see what other owners; of GEC knives are talking about; makes me want to try some different patterns.
Dave, I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder; I think the double pulls really sets off; some of these large knives. That is usually reflected; in the price. I may be wrong; I think double pulls started; with the idea to make knives with big strong springs; easier to open years ago. I am sure someone here; knows for sure.
Been alot of nice knives to admire since my last post. Congrats! everyone on some real beauties! I like them all, ALOT!
Paul, I'm with you. I favor those swedged double pull toes also. Three of the four in my collection have the double pulls. They are alot easier to open.
If they want my gun, they'll have to pry my dead fingers from it
I'm not an old Timer here or anything but soon you'll know what I like!
I have a knife a lot like yours but it's a two blade and has Bocote Wood on it. I don't carry it often because while it's a bit under 4" long it's fat and heavy!
Paul, Your right on both...a nail nick towards the end of a blade give you more leverage, a must have IMO on knives of this pattern...and yes they thought of it years ago, this
Barnsley Bros is over a 100 years old...
Welcome Frank...that's one of their best...

Yea, Gmusic I would'nt get tired of looking at that one either. Some sweet stag on that one! it looks kinda reddish in the pics. Is that one of the #73 genuine red stags from '07?

Here are a Cripple Creek stockman, a Bulldog three spring cattle knife, and a Bulldog three blade scout, all made by GEC. I wish I could get better scans of the blade etches.
Here's my latest favorite. I admit to being inspired by augustus88's great example on page 6 of this thread.
