The two master blades are replacements, the pen blade is original.

Definitely not a true Russell, as to who made it . . .

Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

I agree with Dimitri.chickenman62 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 25, 2025 9:01 pm I would appreciate an opinion on these two. The two blade seems legit except for the main blade even though there is a R on the blade. I got them both in a swap shop so not much money into them.

Real Russell.
Just re-handled or totally fake.
John pointed out the extra pin. Guess what I found today a big SHAPLLIGH.
It has the same pin pattern as the knife in question. Any thoughts

Re: Learning to spot a real Russell Barlow
Not only has this rebooted post from 2013 been both educational and entertaining, but there have been two "off topic" comments that hit home and should be repeated.
from page 5:
Though I have been accumulating knives for many years, I am a relative newcomer here. I lurked briefly, liked the general atmosphere and joined in March of 2024. I have found the community to be exactly as "blade objective" and "tvic" described it, Courteous, helpful and more than willing to share knowledge. If there are disagreements, they are settled civilly. These are rare "commodities" in most internet communities. I was a member of a music related forum that called itself "The Kindest Place on the Internet". AAPK can definitely share that title. Sorry for the rant, and thanks for all for acting like adults...most of the time.

I was a member years ago with the other popular knife forum but faded away from collecting.
Rejoined that other forum a few months ago but found it not like it was.
Full of a lot of very ignorant arrogant members who are full of you know what.
I ask a legit question about a particular knife brand and was treated like a mentally challenged person with wise cracks.
That type of forum is not for me so I came here.
So far I've gotten adult intelligent answers from AAPK which is the forum I am in looking for.
And I would like to add my $.02 worthtvic wrote: ↑Thu Dec 16, 2021 2:43 pm I hope everyone will forgive a bit off topic but Blade Objective’s comments hit home with me. I was a member of another (non-knife) forum for years and it was exactly as he describes above. Finally, after the last snide comment, I said that’s it. Why subject myself to other people’s rudeness. I don’t do that, and I’m not going to open myself up for that kind of abuse. However, I have seen nothing but positive remarks and courtesy on AAPK. This thread is a good example. There are differing opinions on this thread, but I haven’t seen anyone making smart-aleck remarks or being disrespectful. Kudos to all of you for making knife collecting enjoyable for everyone else.

A great observation. When I shared some of my AAPK posts with my oldest daughter a few years ago, she looked around and told me that it is "the last wholesome place on the internet".Gtrclktr-351 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 19, 2025 8:51 pm Not only has this rebooted post from 2013 been both educational and entertaining, but there have been two "off topic" comments that hit home and should be repeated.

I picked this up this week. Any observations most welcome. The last two pics are with the camera flash enabled.
Thanks for looking,
