An interesting Schrade Walden

I was looking at some of my project/parts knives when I noticed something unusual about this Schrade Walden 897UH.
The spey blade was broken off, but I noticed it had jimping on the liners-

I also noticed that it had a serial number stamped inside on the pile side liner.

Also there was no model number stamped on the blade.

While the knife was in rough shape, I intend to replace the sheepfoot blade and the broken sheepfoot blade with newer blades and reassemble the knife with the original master blade and add it to my collection.

That will make a nice pocket knife, Dale. Have you seen all the Schrade blades and parts for sale on the 'bay for the last couple months or so? Amazing.

I have seen them Cal, I bought about 12 lbs. of Schrade parts.
I even put together a couple Schrade multi-tools from the parts.
There is a lot of the newer parts in there and a lot of blades that have not been ground.
The problem with the blades is that Schrade hardened them before grinding them, makes it pretty hard top grind them on a belt sander.

Here is a Schrade Walden 897UH 100 year Keen Kutter Anniversary with no Model # on the tang, a very low serial number 006xx, and jimped liners

This one has no blade etch, no model number, serial Number 11xxx, jimped liners, and a Uncle Henry shield.

The 897UH, 825, 895, and the 893 are a favorite of mine ..

Very nice collection of the pattern! Thanks for showing! That K-77 was a SFO for Norm Thompson Outfitters back in the 1960s.

Thanks, it has taken awhile to get them together...the K-77 is not in the display. Unfortunately the end of the main blade has been reground..it is missing a little less than 1/8". I have a Sharpfinger with a MASTER MECHANIC shield and a MM152 tang stamp that is short also..just have never found knives to replace them. Maybe they are the start of a "short knife" display.

Thanks..I just added an 899 and posted it on the LATEST SCHRADE topic. I didn't get many looking like the pictures..spent a lot of time cleaning them

DWEB, Beautiful collection you have. This is a Schrade 897UH I have owned since the very late 1990's or very early 2000's (gift from my brother who bought a set of three at an NRA banquet). This one has the NRA shield in lieu of the Uncle Henry shield and a blade etch for the Friends of NRA. OH

When I joined the NRA some years ago, they sent me a pocket knife that had 'made in china' on the tang. Your brother sure got a better knife than I did.
I recently got this one. If you look closely at the bolster, there is a M with a lightning bolt in the middle. I have seen the blade etchings before but I don't know the significance of them. I believe I have seen the pine cones on a shield. If anyone can enlighten me I would appreciate it.
By the way, Doug, is probably easier than DWEB
