Militaria Starting from about 1850
Hi:
Have been trying to get around to this for some time now. Was cleaning out my storage and decided it is now or never. Please don't get in a hurry because it is going to take a while. I am only going to say what is what and if anyone has a question I will attempt to answer. I am not going to limit this to cutlery cause I have some other pieces interesting to me if no one else. All that will be here is a part of our History. Here are my first two photo's The first was taken to show the 1850 Foot Officers Sword. Made by PDL(Germany) Imported by Tiffany. In the second Photo from top down: A 1917 WWI Trench Knife made by ACC. The next three are Model 5 1903 Springfield Bayonets. One by RIA, the other two by SA. The third down is a WWII Re-handle. Next is a model 1917 knife by Plumb made in 1918. Then a USMC Bolo made by Chatillon, offhand I don't remember vintage. Next on left is a Military 22 cal High Standard pistol and last on the right is a Model 1911 colt 45 Military with three different ammo pouch's and a military holster for the 45. If the Colt looks different it is because I put a set of Gold Cup grips on it. Thanks for looking, will continue as possible. Comments are welcome. Should you have any thing that would go with my stuff feel free to contact me at by email or PM or in the open with photos and and price desired.

Been sort of busy today. Don't make the mistake of hunting for a new washer and dryer thinking of what you paid for the last ones 15 years ago.
Nuff about that. Thought I would change up a bit and show this Foreign group. First photo is a sword and Uncle of mine brought back from European theatre. He was in a B-17 so must have traded for it. I don't know beans about it. Any info will be appreciated. Next on the top is a Japanese Arisaka 30 with straight quillion. Under that is a first model 1867 Danish Bayonet. Next is a Fairbairn-Sykes Dagger from England. On bottom is what appears to be a Swiss Bayonet of some sort. On the right is a Rope Knife marked England, the rest is illegible a neat screw on the shackle end. On the left is as the story was related to me from a Russian tank crew during period of Berlin wall coming down. As I was told the crew was extremely happy to see an American and the Periscope type device was the only gift they had to offer. True or BS? Who knows. More Later tomorrow. Darn W/D takes precedence.

GREAT STOOF!!! Thanks for sharing!! Got a High Standard HD Military myself.
Look on the backbone of that sword's blade and see if there are any markings if it has no tang markings.
Used to have some really cool old military knives and stuff, however, they went the way of the wild goose. (still kicking self in ass)
My washer took a dump Friday night. Thanks to CRAIGSLIST, I ended up with a nearly new set of Whirlpool gear. Turns out my wife knew the girl that was selling them. She figured maybe 20 loads in 2 years as she has her stuff dry cleaned..
Still got WAY deep into my knife "mad money".
EDIT; I think the sword is a Japanese Cavalry Saber. May date as Early as the Russo-Japanese war.

Re: Militaria Starting from about 1850
Hello:
A few more to digest. At least two are really interesting to me. First second and third photos are of a !968 Army Suit marked as shown January 1968, I paired it with a May 1967 Pilots knife which would probably be appropriate. The patches are all from billets in Ramstein, Germany. I folded the suit in pic two so a slight amount of fraying at the leg hem could be seen. No. three is a closeup of suit collar tag and pommel shot of Knife showing Camillus 5-1967. In the last photo on the left is a modern 9MM holster from Desert Storm, On the right a Shoulder Holster marked USN Boyt 43 probably for a 4" Smith. The Middle had a Victory 38 in it which I stupidly sold when a tad bit younger. It is manufactured by Shurlock for Police. It has an MP stamp on it. Probably from late 40's. To its left and right are My Aviators Survival knife and Sheath a 6" which I was issued in 1961 it was not new then so more than likely from late 50's. It started my collection and will stay with me. On the bottom is one of my favorites, I think a late WWII Air Raid Wardens portable Siren. LOUD you say, Yes. My Dad says stop it near every time I sound it and he has been gone for 32 years. More tomorrow, maybe. A continuation with the next photo from top left A USM7 Bayonet and sheath. Top Right A USM7 With Barrel lug sawed off in an M8/a1 sheath. Next down On the left is a USM4 unmarked in an unmarked sheath On the right a USM4 Camillus witha USM8 sheath. The last photo top left is an original from earliest production Imperial MS-7 Survival knife. Second and third and USN MK3 mod 0 knives with sheaths.
Next on both sides is a small grouping of early mess knives. On the middle bottom is for some reason one of my favorites also an early KA-BAR Marine Corp. Knife Marked as such, It has the threaded tang, has seen much love and used and treated as a working knife, still sharp,
If any interest is shown I will try to show some nicer knives later.

Neat Stuff Moss!!

I sold pretty much all of my old militaria during a fit of dementia (actually I needed the money at the time) several years back.
