Hi All, I picked these 3 knives up and would like some help with them before I put them in my store. They are marked KIRKHAM & CO SHEFFIELD ENGLAND on most of the blades and SHEFFIELD ENGLAND on others. All 3 knives have an etch of Waterville in script. Under the thread for Waterville on Knife Lore a member posted a 2 bladed Wharncliffe knife with the same markings and etch but there were no comments about the knife at that time which was awhile ago. I was hoping someone would help me with some info on dating when they were made and any other info you might have. The stockmans are 3 7/8" closed and the 4 blade is 3" closed.
Here is a link to the old thread, http://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/kni ... 61&start=0
Thanks Mike

Re: Waterville???
Mike,
I can't add anything as to your knives but for what it might be worth, I have a Willaim Rodgers stockman with what looks like the same bone on it. The jigging pattern looks to be the same.

Re: Waterville???
Mike, you have me stumped.
The "bible" of Sheffield marks is the "Register Of Trade Marks Of The Cutler's Company Sheffield". That book was published only twice, in 1919 and in 1951. Kirkham & Co dosen't show up in either book.
I checked a multitude of other resource books and again came up with nada.
It's like that company never existed!
Hopefully someone else can answer your question, because now you have me interested.

Re: Waterville???
I was just emailed some info on the company through my store where I have the knives listed.
Here's some info on kirkham & co. - they started up in 1919 and specialized in hand-made pocket knives, letter openers, etc for advertising purposes. that would explain the "waterville" engraving on the blade of the four-piece you have for sale. they closed their doors around 1958.
