Unusual pair....

Post by knife7knut »

Not sure what country they are from; lndia maybe. Handles are some type of horn decorated with inletted aluminum? pins. Blades are engraved with designs and a face that is visible thru a slot cut into the sheath when the blade is inserted.
Likely tourist items but unusual.

They're Cambodian. Tourist knives. The engraved image on the blade is an Apsara, a Hindu/Buddhist celestial dancer/nymph.

Not entirely uncommon (not my knives).

You're welcome.

I only know this because I had a friend who brought one back from a trip to Cambodia and the city of Angkor. He said these knives are commonly sold in Angkor with various designs.
