BTW regarding the brief bit about North American Cutlery and the mystery of who made those knives, I have two knives that might be evidence. One is stamped North American, the other is stamped Phoenix Knife Co. They appear to be identical. I also have another knife stamped North American that I believe was made by Cattaraugus. JMO but I see no reason they could not have sourced from both cutleries, given they had family connections to both Phoenix and Cattaraugus.
