I’ve had some nice shapleighs before. This one is a solid snappy little knife. Didn’t imperial make a diamond edge too?

Shapleigh contracted knives from Empire, Camillus, and Schrade. Yours looks “Schrade” to me. Not aware of any made by Imperial, but it’s possible I suppose. After Shapleigh ceased operation (c 1960) some reproductions stamped Diamond Edge appeared, but I don’t think yours is one of those. ::shrug::

Mike, Imperial used the "Diamond Edge" stamping from 1967 on. By then Shapleigh was out of business, so I assume they bought the trademark, or perhaps the copyright had expired by then. At any rate, yes, there were Imperial made Diamond Edge knives sold.

Ken, you either answer or give a good link to an answer constantly on here, thank you. I have been trying to figure out how to tell the difference myself between bone & delrin.

Thank you. I’m happy to share what little I know (or think I know - sometimes I’m wrong ::facepalm:: ). But anything I know was learned from someone else kind enough to share it with me. So if I remember where it came from, or can find a link to it, I try to give credit to the source by linking to their posts.
