Looks like maybe a legit 6185 frame, but I’m not sure about the blade. I’ve not seen Case long pull that goes through the shoulder grind into the tang. Not gonna say it never happened but I don’t recall ever seeing it if it did. Stamp is out of focus but looks like the corners of the letters aren’t crisp and square. Hard to say with the out of focus image though.

As Ken mentioned, that pull going into the tang stamp area is a red flag for me. I don't think any knife companies/makers were that sloppy.

I was just listening to the Catchbit pod cast yesterday and they were discussing long pulls going into the tang on some German made knives. I’m NOT saying Case did it but funny coincidence. I think it was you who recommended the podcast in another thread, if so thanks! I enjoy it.

I will need to check out that podcast, thanks!

Trying to figure out if that second photo looks like a cold stamp.

Sargent’s 7th has pictures of 3 Tested era knives with the long pull running into the shoulder of the tang. They are on pages 206, 214 and 228. Not making any inference as to the authenticity of the knife.

I can only leave you with this advice - if in any doubt, walk away.
